The Alfonsas Rimkus Memorial Checkers Tournament concludes. The men's winner was Audrius Jakubauskas from Lentvaris, the second - Lionginas Narbutas from Aukštadvaris, the third - Algis Račkauskas from Karapolis village. In the women's category, the winner was Lina Jančiauskienė, the second was Jurgita Dobrovolskaitė from Bijun, and the third was Giedrutė Stanišauskienė from Trakai Vokė. The winners and runners-up of the tournament were awarded with sweet prizes, cups and medals established by the Trakai District Municipality and the Bijūnėlis Chess Club, while all participants were awarded commemorative medals. During the break of the tournament, Dainius Jurgelevičius treated everyone with fish.
After the tournament, the top ten played a simultaneous game with the tournament organiser, National Master of Chess Kęstutis Blaževičius. Three of the simultaneous participants managed to reach a draw.
